Rosemans Honored for Community Service
Longtime Chula Vista residents Frank and Joan Roseman were honored for their service to the community at a reception hosted by the Chula Vista Public Library and Ron Cohn, owner of the local Sprouts stores, on Sunday, July 20.
Mayor Cheryl Cox presented the couple with a certificate of recognition and proclaimed July 20 as "Joan and Frank Roseman Day." The couple, who were also celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary, have been community volunteers for more than 45 years, sharing their time with the Friends of the Chula Vista Library, the Living Coast Discovery Center (formerly the Chula Vista Nature Center), the Tall Ship Society and other local organizations. The Rosemans were involved in the planning and design of the current Civic Center library in the 1970s, and Joan served several terms as president of the Friends Civic Center chapter and executive board. Frank co-founded the Chula Vista Heritage Museum and served on that board for many years. He also oversees the sale of online books as a fund-raiser for the Friends.
